-  MATERNITY UNIT

Over 20 years ago we set off on a difficult adventure- creating Acuario. We were a small group of health and education professionals living and working in Valencia and we decided to move to the countryside to have our children in freedom and to live and work in a different way.

We found the perfect location for this in Beniarbeig, a small village in the Marina Alta region, five kilometres from the sea. We were warmly welcomed and we decided to stay. We built our houses with our own hands and very close by, beneath beautiful elm trees, we dug out a cave for our children to be born in: the "Paridera". Our children and our friends' children were born there and after a while we realised it might be possible to open a maternity clinic under the same principles and with all the necessary services on offer provided by the very best staff using the very best equipment. The dream of the maternity clinic has come true. We have made "the ideal" possible and though some details and some of the character are always lost along the way, the result is good and beautiful. We feel comfortable in our work and we believe that the couples who live their children’s births with us feel comfortable here too.

We have managed to combine a family atmosphere with the necessary technical resources to be able to tackle any possible complications. The financial side of the project was difficult but not as difficult as finding the right staff. The truth is that with a good team onboard, any financial venture is possible.
