The Acuario Hospital is in Beniarbeig, a wealthy and prosperous agricultural village (devoted to citrus, carob and almond trees as well as vines) that also has an industrial estate.
It is right on the edge of the Rectoria valley in the Marina Alta region, close to Ondara and Denia and only 100 km from Valencia and 90km from Alicante. The Girona river, descending from the Carrasca mountains (Sierra de la Carrasca), runs through the village as well as through the Barranco del Infierno (Hell’s Ravine) before flowing into the Mediterranean near Els Poblets.
Another geographical feature worth mentioning is the Segaria mountain range to the north of the town, which offers magnificent views of Denia and the sea and has archaeological remains of an Iberian settlement on its summit.
